The QPL returns to the scene with the announcement of their 2020-2021 Quake Pro League. Season 2 includes over $500K in prizing across 3 stages of play.
- Stage 1: September – December
- Stage 2: January – April
- Stage 3: May – August 2021
Quake Pro League – Season 2
Each Stage includes 13 weeks of Regular Season matches with $150,000 in prizing and a Stage Finals event with $100,000 to $150,000 up for grabs.
New changes this season include replacing the point system with an earnings leaderboard and a new Stage Finals format. In lieu of the point system, players now earn $150 per map win or $50 per loss for each map in regulation play. And now when they face off in the finals, players will battle it out in an NA/EU integrated double elimination bracket.
Safety permitting, the first two stage finals will be live studio events at the PGL Studio in Bucharest, Romania. And the Stage 3 Quake World Championship will take place at QuakeCon 2021.
The 2020-2021 Quake Pro League kicks off this Sunday, September 6th at 10:00 AM ET / 4:00 PM CET. Tune in at www.twitch.tv/quake!
