Reece “RMV” Vince has parted ways with British esports organisation Clique Esports after a two- and a half year run.
For the majority of his Quake career 21-year-old RMV wore the red and black jersey. In August of 2021 Vince was picked up by the organisation and represented them for 897 days straight, most notably in his four LAN appearances, where two were Premier events.
Vince started off his real competitive career with a bang, going from playing only weekly online tournaments to qualifying to the 2022 World Championships in Bucharest, Romania. There Reece had a weak performance, but at Barcelona KeenCon 2022 the same year the Brit had a more promising result – a top 8 finish, falling to cnz 2-0 in the Quarterfinals.
2023 started off on a tremendous note; RMV plowed through Aster Summer Frag Fest, taking down names such as maxter, psygib, dramiS and RAISY before finding himself in the Grand Finals where he eventually fell short against Strongsage. At TILT Gaming League S1 Elite Division Finals in Warsaw, Reece beat Polish favorite Marcin “wolfpl” Mielniczek in four maps, taking home his first LAN trophy under Clique. After a failed attempt at qualifying for World Championship 2023 and The Foundry, RMV‘s last LAN under the organisation ended up being Barcelona KeenCon 2023, where the 21-year-old made it out of groups and into the Playoffs, where he saw himself up against VENGEUR. After a 2-0 loss he then went on to take on serious in the Losers Bracket, but that match also ended up in the opponent’s favor.
In a tweet the Englishman reveals that the departure is not the end of his esports career, but the end of his “first chapter”. The organisation also hints that Vince is to continue competing, writing in their own tweet that RMV will “explore new opportunities in Quake”.
