Spanish tournament organizer Keencon has announced their roadmap for 2024, ending at offline event Barcelona KeenCon 2024.
After a wildly successful 2023 offline event in Spain attracting a majority of the professional players, Keencon has announced that they will take it to the next level in 2024. In a tweet it has now been revealed that 2v2 will be the format for this year, with a monthly league of three skill levels, all with a total prize pool of €400 every month excluding donations.
The “Diamond” and “Gold” League will have €150 and €50 prize pools.
Most notably the “Elite League” will have a prize pool of €250 and run over several months. Teams will collect points based on their performance. These points will then determine the top 8 teams at the end of the season that will get a direct invite to the offline finals in Spain, where €10,000 will be up for grabs. This tournament is planned for October or November this year.
The offline finals will have spots for 16 teams; the remaining 8 teams will be determined in a qualifier “a few weeks before the LAN Party”.
The Monthly league system is set to start in March. For more information go to KeenCon’s website and follow them on Twitter to make sure you stay up to date on their competition.
