Nations Cup 2024 winner “faye” has been suspended from all KeenCon competition, leaving second half of “120% shaft” Vincent “ChenZo” Cronin alone. However, Cronin will stick in the Quake scene for the remainder of the year as he is set to continue competing with a new teammate.
The news of the Serbian player “faye” getting suspended was posted in KeenCon’s Discord on May 1st, explaining that the decision was made “in response to recent actions where past issues involving one of our organizers were publicly discussed and insults were directed towards the organization, both during live streams and directly in-game.”
As seen above, KeenCon also made the decision to let ChenZo continue competing and keep the team’s previously collected points, making the continued participation for “120% shaft” less of a struggle.
The American Splitgate player made the decision to continue yesterday, after an official post from Splitgate on twitter leaving its playerbase with many questions unanswered. After a talk with Cronin he said he will stay in the scene and continue attending the monthly KeenCon tournaments, hoping to show up in Spain in November for the €10,000 finals. Joining him in the team will be another newcomer to Quake, “skywalker“, whom ChenZo found in a “similar ‘looking for main game‘ state” and will be taking under his wing the upcoming months.
ChenZo on Discord“I’m slightly disappointed that faye and I were unable to continue, as we had really solid growth in our short time in 2v2, breaking into the T8 range among veterans. I am excited to start again from a fresh slate, however, as there is always something to be gained from each new teammate. I still think there is a huge benefit for me to keep playing this tournament, and I will do all I can to win.”
The team currently sits at a shared 7th place with “some tricks” (toxjq & Xron) with 5 total points, just above the qualification line for the offline finals in November.
