The Latvian player Pavel “bukster” Bartkevics will attend his fourth Quake Pro League Final in August after beating FASTDANOOB in three maps (Blood Covenant 2-4, Corrupted Keep 8-7, Vale of Pnath 5-3).
bukster bested players like cirux, enesy and Keltz before finding himself in the Grand Finals against fellow countryman FASTDANOOB. After losing the first map, Bartkevics found himself in a tricky situation on Corrupted Keep having to come back from a big deficit. By the skin of his teeth, he managed to tie it to 7-7 and take the map into overtime, where he kept cool and ultimately took the final kill to get the map. In the third map, Vale of Pnath, bukster seemed to have control throughout the entirety of the ten minute showdown and walked away with a 5-3 scoreline, punching in his ticket to the World Championships in August.
